What is Many Mothers? 

Many Mothers—Albuquerque offers practical and emotional support to women and families with newborns through 6 months of age. All services are free. At Many Mothers we believe that nurturing women is the best way to nurture the children of Bernalillo County. Family and friends are not always available, but every mother, every family deserves to be nurtured during this special time. Many Mothers provides proactive support to women who need and want the benefits of having another woman in the home. We offer this service to every family with an infant up to 6 months of age regardless of income. 
 
 What can Many Mothers do for you?

Many Mothers understands that being a mom is a big job. We respect you, your lifestyle, your parenting style, and we want to support you. We connect you with community resources that provide services to women, children, and families. Most importantly we match you with a Volunteer that is there to meet your individual needs. She is there for you!
Some things your MM Volunteer can do for you are: hold your newborn while you rest, bathe, or exercise, read to or play with an older sibling, run errands with you or for you, or lighthousekeeping/cooking.

What Many Mothers doesn’t do:

We don’t babysit and we are never alone in the house with your infant.

b How does our program work? b

b A Many Mothers representative will meet with you, to get to know you and understand your needs.

 b Next we will match you with a Volunteer who can best meet those needs and be a friend. Making quality matches is at the center of our program’s success. It is important to us that you feel completely comfortable with your Volunteer. Help is available throughout the process to ensure everyone is 
having a good experience.

 b Volunteers visit families twice a week for the first month for about 2 hours each time.

 b In the second and third months visits are weekly.

 b If there are multiple newborns the time is extended and more than one volunteer is matched with the family, when available.
